The root cause of war and fights among individuals and nations is not a complex issue, but a simple one. According to 2 Corinthians 10:3-5, the cause of all relational struggles is our desires that battle within us. James 4:1-3 also identifies the major factors that lead to war as our desires that battle within us. Our desires for pleasure, lust, murder, and coveting lead to conflicts and wars. As Christians, we must acknowledge that our sinful nature and self-centeredness are the root causes of war and fights. Our failure to recognize and repent of these desires leads to a breakdown in our relationships with others.
