Showing Love to Those Around Us

Showing love to those around us is a fundamental aspect of being a follower of Jesus Christ. It is essential to recognize that love is not just a feeling, but an action that we can choose to take. In order to show love, we must first start with ourselves, examining our hearts and minds to ensure that we are grounded in the love of God. The Bible teaches us that we were born in the "divine house of love" (1 John 4:7-8), and as such, we should strive to reflect this love in our relationships with others.

To show love to those around us, we must be intentional about how we interact with them. This involves being present with them, listening to them, and touching them in a way that is meaningful and affectionate. We are not just talking about physical touch, but also the emotional and spiritual connections that we make with others. As the Bible says, "Love should be expressed verbally, not by simply saying, 'Of course I love you'" (1 John 3:18). As we strive to show love to those around us, we must also be mindful of our own limitations and weaknesses. We may stumble in our attempts to love, and when we do, we should ask forgiveness of God and others. We should also ask others to pray for us that we would be able to love in a way that is noticeable (1 John 4:20). Ultimately, showing love to those around us is a reflection of the greatness of God's love to us.
