Biblical Answer

The feeling of hopelessness can be a suffocating weight that makes it difficult to muster the energy to try again. When everything seems to be going wrong, and the future looks bleak, it's natural to feel overwhelmed and give up. However, as a Christian, I want to encourage you that there is always hope, no matter how dark things may seem. In fact, it's in these moments of hopelessness that we are most in need of a Savior. As the Bible says, "We also glory in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope" (Romans 5:3-4).

It's essential to recognize that hopelessness is not a destination, but a temporary state of mind. We can choose to give in to it, or we can choose to fight against it by holding onto hope. The Bible reminds us that "hope does not put us to shame, because God's love has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit, who has been given to us" (Romans 5:5). When we put our hope in God, we are not putting our hope in a vague concept or a feeling, but in a living, loving God who is always with us. This hope is not based on our circumstances, but on the character and promises of God.

So, what's the point of trying when everything feels hopeless? The point is that we are not alone, and we are not without hope. God is with us, and He is always working to bring good out of our circumstances. As the Bible says, "And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose" (Romans 8:28). When we put our hope in God, we can face the future with confidence, knowing that He is working everything out for our good. We can choose to trust in Him, even when things seem hopeless, and find the strength to keep going, even when it feels like giving up is the easiest option.
