Why Did God Take Away My Retirement Savings?

When we experience a loss, such as the depletion of our retirement savings, it can be challenging to understand God's plan. However, as believers, we must recognize that our security and provision come from God, not from our financial portfolios or savings accounts. The Bible teaches us that God is our Father and our Provider (Matthew 6:26, 33; 1 Timothy 5:8). He promises to supply our needs according to His riches in glory (Philippians 4:19). When we put our finances under God's covering and live in obedience to His ways, He will provide for us.

It is possible that our loss may be a result of not trusting God's sovereignty and provision. We may have been trying to take matters into our own hands, relying on our own strength and resources, rather than trusting in God's goodness and faithfulness. The Bible warns us not to worry about our lives, but to seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness (Matthew 6:33). When we prioritize our relationship with God and trust in His provision, we can experience peace and stability, even in the midst of financial uncertainty.

So, why did God take away your retirement savings? Perhaps it was to teach you to trust in Him alone for your provision. Maybe it was to help you see that your security is not in your finances, but in God's presence and promises.
