Responding to Chaos with Courage and Faith

When our plans are constantly being disrupted, it's essential to respond with courage and faith. The Bible reminds us that God is holy love, and His sovereignty is evident in all aspects of life (Psalm 103:19). Faith is the supreme effort of our lives, throwing ourselves recklessly on God's promises (Romans 4:20-21). In times of chaos, it's easy to lose mental composure and question God's goodness. However, faith helps us establish ourselves on eternal truth, giving us the mental composure to trust in God's holy love.

Crisis of the Will

A crisis of the will occurs when we deliberately, earnestly, and recklessly abandon everything, making our lives irrational. This is a deep crisis that requires us to re-evaluate our priorities and trust in God's sovereignty. When we lose our faith, we tend to say that perhaps we should just accept the chaotic situation and decide there is no meaning. However, this is not the Christian response. We must get proactive about a new strategy to handle failure, pray for God's guidance, and apply our new strategy to the next failure. We can trust that God will make our paths straight (Proverbs 3:5-6) and give us grounds for optimism.

Faith and Anticipation

Faith is not just about reacting to crises but also about living in anticipation of God's promises. When we lean into the future fulfillment of God's promises, we develop a sense of hope and optimism. The Bible is full of promises to bear us through difficult times. We must not view our current crisis as a faith issue but rather as an opportunity to trust in God's sovereignty. When we look to God before launching into uncharted waters, it's an act of faith. By trusting in God's holy love, we can develop dynamic faith to face any challenge that comes our way.
