As a pastor, I've had the privilege of witnessing and experiencing the love and support of families in difficult circumstances. My own family, for instance, has been a source of strength and encouragement for me. My wife Susan and I have been married for 19 years, and we've been blessed with two wonderful children, Joshua and Rebecca.

I believe that the love and acceptance of family members can be a powerful force in helping individuals cope with disabilities. Research has shown that people with disabilities, such as those with Down syndrome, often report being happy with their lives. This suggests that, even in the face of significant challenges, love and support from family can make a significant difference. As a husband and father, I can attest to the fact that my family's love and acceptance have been a source of comfort and strength for me.

If I were to become disabled, I have no doubt that my family would continue to love and support me. We would find ways to adapt and adjust to the new circumstances, and we would work together to ensure that I received the care and support I needed. My family's love is not based on my ability or disability, but on our relationship and commitment to one another.
