Will I ever find happiness?

The concept of happiness is often misunderstood as being synonymous with pleasure. However, true happiness comes from joy, which is a far better and more lasting experience. Happiness depends on joy, and joy is a result of obeying God's commands, while disobedience destroys it (Ps. 126:1-2). Joy is not just a future promise but can be experienced today, even in the midst of present-day misery. As the Bible says, "You will be filled with joy and gladness, and people will call you blessed" (Ps. 128:1-2). This joy is not just a feeling but a result of living a life that honors God and is surrendered to His will.

In order to find joy, one must be willing to look for it and welcome it into their life. This requires a willingness to set aside depression and other negative emotions and focus on loving others and living a life that reflects Christian values. As the Bible says, "Love each other as I have loved you" (John 15:12). Loving others is not just a duty but a fundamental aspect of who we are as human beings, created in the image of God. By living a life that is surrendered to God and focused on loving others, we can experience the joy that God promises to those who obey Him.

It's also worth noting that the concept of happiness is often misunderstood as being dependent on external circumstances, such as wealth, beauty, or relational status. However, true happiness is not dependent on these things, but rather on a deep and meaningful relationship with God. As the Bible says, "You will be my people, and I will be your God" (Leviticus 26:12). This relationship is the key to experiencing joy and happiness, and it is available to all who surrender their lives to God and live according to His will. By focusing on this relationship and living a life that honors God, we can experience the joy and happiness that He promises to those who obey Him.
