Biblical Answer

When we put others first, even when we're feeling stuck or overwhelmed, we experience a significant shift in our lives. We begin to see that our own desires and needs are not the only things that matter. We start to understand that our actions have an impact on those around us, and that by putting others first, we can bring joy and comfort to them. This is not to say that we become doormats or sacrifice our own well-being for the sake of others. Rather, we learn to balance our own needs with the needs of those around us, and in doing so, we find a sense of purpose and fulfillment that we may not have found otherwise.

When we prioritize others, we are not only showing love and compassion to them, but we are also being transformed by the experience. We are reminded of the importance of self-control and the need to put our own desires and impulses in check. We learn to prioritize what is truly important, rather than getting bogged down in trivialities and distractions. By putting others first, we are, in effect, giving God room to work in our lives, and allowing Him to shape us into the people He desires us to be.

As we put others first, we are not only benefiting those around us, but we are also experiencing the benefits of a life lived in obedience to God. We are learning to trust in His goodness and sovereignty, and to rely on His strength and provision in times of need. We are discovering that true happiness and fulfillment come not from getting our own way, but from living a life of love, service, and sacrifice. By putting others first, we are, in effect, saying to God, "I trust you. I trust that you have a better plan for my life than I do, and that you will work all things out for my good." And as we do, we experience the joy and peace that comes from living a life that is surrendered to God.
