Biblical Answer

David learned several things when he fought Goliath. Firstly, he learned that his strength and power come not from his own military prowess, but from his God, the Warrior who fights on his behalf. This theology is evident in David's speech to Goliath, where he says, "You come against me with sword and spear and javelin, but I come against you in the name of the Lord Almighty, whom you have defied" (1 Sam. 17:45-46). David's confidence in God's power and presence gives him the courage to face the giant and ultimately defeat him.

Furthermore, David learned that his faith and trust in God are essential for victory. When Saul, the king, tried to give David his armor, David rejected it, saying, "I have not been proven trustworthy by you" (1 Sam. 17:39). David's trust in God's guidance and protection is what enables him to successfully complete the task. This trust is also evident in his speech to Goliath, where he says, "The Lord who rescued me from the paw of the lion and the paw of the bear will rescue me from the hand of this Philistine" (1 Sam. 17:37).

Moreover, David's experience with Goliath teaches him the importance of being a faithful servant of God. As he says in Psalm 23, "The Lord is my shepherd, I lack nothing.
