Why did I have to go through this pain?
The pain of depression is a heavy burden to bear, and it can be overwhelming to try to understand why it is happening to us. The Bible is full of cries of pain and suffering, and it's natural to wonder why God would allow us to experience such pain. However, the Bible also teaches us that our pain is not just a random event, but rather a symptom of a deeper issue. This issue is our sin and our separation from God. When we sin, we are not just hurting ourselves, but also hurting God and others around us. This is why the Bible says that sin is a much more serious problem than suffering.
The pain of depression can be intense and overwhelming, and it's easy to feel like we're the only ones suffering. However, the Bible teaches us that we are not alone in our pain. Jesus himself suffered on the cross, and he understands our pain. In fact, he says that he will never leave us or forsake us. This means that even in the midst of our pain, we are not alone. God is with us, and he is working to bring us hope and healing. The Bible also teaches us that our pain can be used for good. Romans 8:28 says that God works all things together for good, even the things that cause us pain.
So, why did I have to go through this pain? The answer is not that God is punishing us or that we are not good enough. The answer is that our pain is a symptom of a deeper issue, and God is working to bring us healing and hope. This means that we don't have to try to avoid pain or run from it. Instead, we can face it head-on and trust that God is with us. We can also take steps to alleviate our pain, such as seeking medical help, practicing self-care, and turning to God in prayer. By doing so, we can find hope and healing in the midst of our pain.
