This is not to say that it's always easy, but rather that our purpose and identity come from God, not from our circumstances. By trusting in God's sovereignty and goodness, we can find joy and fulfillment, even in the midst of suffering. As the apostle Paul wrote in Philippians 4:11-13, "I have learned to be content whatever the circumstances. I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want. I can do all this through him who gives me strength." May we, like Paul, learn to be content and find joy in Christ, regardless of our circumstances.
