Biblical Answer

The question of why God took away your only child is a painful and difficult one to answer. From a biblical perspective, we can say that God is sovereign over all creation, including the lives of His children. He is not obligated to give us a reason for why He takes away our children, nor does the Bible address this issue. This can be hard for us to accept, especially when we have prayed for our child's life and have not seen the desired outcome. However, we must remember that God's ways are not our ways, and His thoughts are not our thoughts (Isaiah 55:8-9). He is a God of love and mercy, and He often works in ways that are beyond our understanding.

In the Bible, we see examples of God taking away people's children, even when they have prayed for their lives. For example, in Psalm 37:13-15, David writes about how God takes away the children of the wicked, but preserves the children of the righteous. This can be a difficult truth to accept, but it reminds us that God is a God of justice and righteousness. He is not a God who ignores sin, but rather one who judges and punishes it. This is not to say that God is cruel or heartless, but rather that He is a God who is committed to righteousness and justice.

As believers, we must learn to trust in God's sovereignty and goodness, even when we do not understand His ways. We must remember that God's ultimate goal is to bring glory to Himself, and that He is working all things together for our good (Romans 8:28). This does not mean that we will not experience pain and suffering in this life, but rather that we can trust that God is working everything out for our ultimate good. As the Bible says, "And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose" (Romans 8:28). We can trust that God is good, even when we do not understand why He takes away our children.
