The Crisis of Finances

The crisis of finances can be overwhelming, and it's easy to feel like it's the end of your savings. However, as a Christian, we need to remember that our true security lies in our relationship with God, not in our financial portfolios or savings accounts. In Colossians 1:23, we're reminded that our salvation is secure if we continue in the faith, stable and steadfast, not shifting from the hope of the gospel. This means that our trust should be in God, not in our finances.

The Importance of Giving

In 1 Corinthians 16:2, Paul instructs the Corinthian church to set aside a sum of money each week, saving it for the collection, so that when he comes, no collections will have to be made. This advice is not just about giving to the church, but about giving to God. When we give, we're not losing something, we're gaining something much greater. As Jesus said, "Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously" (2 Corinthians 9:6). So, rather than question how much we're willing to surrender to Jesus, we should ask ourselves honestly, how joyful, peaceful, and free do I want to be?

The Sovereignty of God

Ultimately, our financial situation is not in our hands, but in God's hands. He is sovereign over all creation, and He can provide for us in ways we never thought possible. As we trust in Him, we can experience true stability and peace, even in the midst of financial chaos. So, if you're facing a financial crisis, don't panic. Instead, turn to God and ask Him to guide you through this difficult time. Remember, His sovereignty is greater than any financial crisis, and He can provide for you in ways that will amaze you. As the Bible says, "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight" (Proverbs 3:5-6).
