The Assurance of Trust in God's Sovereignty

Trust in God's sovereignty in the midst of uncertainty is not a feeling of certainty, but rather a genuine biblical faith that exercises trust in God's power and provision. This trust is not based on human reasoning or understanding, but rather on the knowledge of God's character and nature. When we trust in God, we acknowledge His sovereignty over all things, including our lives and circumstances. This trust is not a passive acceptance of circumstances, but rather an active, intentional trust that seeks to know and understand God more intimately.

The Relationship Between Trust and Knowledge

Trust in God's sovereignty is closely tied to our knowledge of God. When we trust in God, we come to know Him more intimately, and He directs our paths. This is not a one-way relationship, however, where we simply trust and God responds. Rather, it is a two-way relationship where we seek to know God and He reveals Himself to us. As we trust in God, we come to understand that He is great and all-sufficient, and that He has suffered on account of evil. This understanding helps us to see that God's sovereignty is not about removing evil, but rather about working all things together for good (Romans 8:28).
