Will God Ever Hear My Prayers?

God will indeed hear our prayers. This is not a matter of doubt, but absolute certainty. We do not have to speak any louder to get His attention, and He hears our prayers. However, we may not always understand why God answers our prayers the way He does. Sometimes, the answer is no or wait. This does not mean that God has not heard us, but rather that His silence is the very proof that He has.

Prayer and God's Will

We should have great confidence that God will answer our prayer when we ask Him for something that accords with a specific promise or command of Scripture. In such cases, we know what God's will is, because He has told us, and we simply need to ask Him for it. God listens to our prayers, and He does answer them. Even when we do not receive the response we are requesting, our prayers are not in vain, as God has assured us that He will answer them according to His will.

Trust and Prayer

To have a relationship with God that is characterized by trust, we must be willing to pray with an open heart and mind. We should not pray with the expectation that God will answer our prayers in a specific way, but rather that He will answer them according to His will. We should ask Him for deeper understanding of His will, and then pray for what seems best to us, giving reasons to the Lord why, in our present understanding, we think it is best. This is how we can have confidence that God will hear our prayers and answer them according to His will.
