The question of whether you can still be yourself with a disability is a complex and multifaceted issue. From a biblical perspective, our identity is not solely defined by our physical or cognitive abilities. Rather, our identity is rooted in our relationship with God and our faith in Jesus Christ. As the Bible teaches, "You are a new creation in Christ" (2 Corinthians 5:17). This means that our true identity is not defined by our disabilities or limitations, but by our union with Christ and our new life in Him.

However, this does not mean that our disabilities or limitations do not affect our lives or our experiences. The Bible teaches that our suffering and disabilities are a result of the fall of humanity and are a part of the "groaning" of creation that awaits redemption (Romans 8:22-23). Nevertheless, even in the midst of suffering and disability, we can still experience joy, happiness, and fulfillment. As the Bible teaches, "The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit" (Psalm 34:18). This means that even in the midst of our struggles and limitations, we can still experience God's presence and care.

We are more than our bodies or our minds; we are spirit beings created in the image of God. As the Bible teaches, "We are God's workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do" (Ephesians 2:10). This means that our true identity and purpose are rooted in our relationship with God and our service to Him, not in our physical or cognitive abilities. Therefore, we can still be ourselves, even with a disability, because our identity is not defined by our limitations, but by our union with Christ and our new life in Him.
