Can love revive a dying flame when we're feeling stuck?

The Dying Flame of Love

When we're feeling stuck, it's easy to lose sight of what love truly means. The initial emotional explosion of love can wear off, leaving us feeling empty and unfulfilled. This is not what true love is about. True love is not about fleeting feelings, but about actions that bring lasting satisfaction. In a relationship, the initial thrill of fresh feelings must die to make way for lasting satisfaction. Reviving the Flame

We have to go through the pain to get to the joy. This requires a sustained effort to love the unlovely in a consistent way. As we continue to love, our emotions will eventually catch up with our behavior, and we will begin to see the beauty in those we love. This is what happens when we practice the actions of true love, as listed in 1 Corinthians 13:4-7.
