Biblical Answer

If you lose your business, it can be a devastating experience. However, from a biblical perspective, there is hope. As the Bible says, "For whoever wants to save their life will lose it, but whoever loses their life for me and for the gospel will save it" (Mark 8:35). This means that when we give up our own will, self-seeking, and pride, we can find peace, joy, and satisfaction. The key is to trust in God and His sovereignty over all creation, including our businesses.

In fact, Jesus taught that we should not be anxious about our lives, but instead, we should seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness (Matthew 6:33). This means that we should prioritize our relationship with God above our business or career. When we do, we can trust that God will provide for our needs and guide us in our endeavors. As Jim Elliot, a missionary and martyr, said, "The cost of discipleship is nothing compared to the cost of not being a disciple." This means that we should be willing to take risks and make sacrifices for the sake of our faith, even if it means losing our business.

So, what would you do if you lose your business? You could try to hold on to it at all costs, but this can lead to anxiety, stress, and a sense of desperation. Or, you could let go and trust in God's sovereignty. You could sell everything and trust that God will provide for your needs. This is what following Jesus is like - surrendering our own will and trusting in God's goodness and provision. As the Bible says, "Sell your possessions and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. When you give, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing" (Matthew 19:21). This means that we should be willing to let go of our possessions and trust in God's provision, even if it means losing our business. By doing so, we can find peace, joy, and satisfaction, and we can trust that God will provide for our needs.
