God's Design for Marriage

Marriage is an institution created by God, reflecting His creative genius. According to Genesis 1:26-27 and 2:18-24, God designed marriage as a union between one man and one woman, with the purpose of bringing together two human beings in unity. This design is rooted in the natural order of creation, and it is against this order that Paul speaks in Romans 1:26, saying that same-sex relationships are contrary to nature.

The Three Unities of Marriage

In Ephesians 5:22-30, Paul explains that marriage is designed to reflect the three unities: oneness of heart and mind, oneness of body, and oneness in God. This oneness is the result of a deep and abiding relationship with God, which is made possible through faith in Christ.
