Biblical Answer

The question of why God allowed your husband to die can be a painful and difficult one to answer. As Christians, we believe that God is sovereign and that He works all things out for our good, even when it seems like He's not (Romans 8:28). However, this doesn't necessarily mean that God causes suffering or death. Sometimes, God allows us to experience pain and loss so that we can learn to depend on Him more fully. In 2 Corinthians 12:7-10, the Apostle Paul writes about how he was given a "thorn in the flesh" to keep him from becoming proud. He says, "For this reason I was given the thorn in my flesh, to keep me from becoming conceited. Therefore, I was given a messenger to plague me to keep me from becoming proud." Paul's thorn was not a blessing, but it was a means of keeping him humble and dependent on God.

In a similar way, God may have allowed your husband's death to be a means of keeping you humble and dependent on Him. As the Bible says, "God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear, though the earth give way and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea" (Psalm 46:1-2). God is always with us, even in the midst of suffering. He is our Rock and our Refuge. When we go through difficult times, we may feel like God has abandoned us, but He's not. He's working all things out for our good, even when we can't see it.

In your grief, you may be asking questions like "Why did God let my husband die?" or "Why didn't God prevent this from happening?" These are valid questions, but they may not have answers that we can understand. What we do know is that God is a loving Father who wants the best for us, even when it's hard to see. He's working all things out for our good, and He will bring us through this difficult time. As the Bible says, "And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose" (Romans 8:28).
