Your Question:
Can I still have a sense of peace when everything is uncertain?
Answer:
As a pastor, I've come to realize that true inner peace is impossible unless it's received from Jesus. When our Lord speaks peace, He creates peace, because the words He speaks are always spirit, and they are life. I've experienced this kind of peace in my life, and I've seen it in the lives of those I've served at our church. It's a peace that comes from looking into His face and fully understanding and receiving His quiet contentment. However, I also know that this peace doesn't always come easily. In fact, the Bible says that we may not have complete peace in all our relationships, and we certainly don't have peace in our battle with our own sin or with Satan. But even in the midst of uncertainty and turmoil, God can give us a deep and immeasurable peace. It's not a natural peace, but the peace of Jesus. This peace can be a refuge from the strife and anxiety that we face in life. As I reflect on my own life, I realize that I've had to learn to trust in God's peace, even when everything around me is uncertain. My wife Susan and I have been married for 19 years, and we've had our share of ups and downs. But through it all, we've learned to put our trust in God's peace, and it's given us a sense of stability and calm in the midst of chaos. I've also seen this in my children, Joshua and Rebecca - they may not always understand what's going on, but they know that they can trust in God's peace to guide them through the tough times.
