The Priority of Faith in Uncertainty

When uncertainty strikes, our natural inclination is to be anxious and try to control every aspect of our lives. However, Jesus taught us to "do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God" (Philippians 4:6). This means that we need to prioritize our faith in God's sovereignty and goodness, even when we don't understand what's happening. By bringing God into every situation, we can trust that He is working everything out for our good (Romans 8:28).

In order to prioritize our values in times of uncertainty, we need to recognize that our natural tendency to control and predict everything is not only impossible, but also misguided. As the Bible says, "There is no such thing as chance, or fortune; nor is there a readier way to gain the fear of God, and to put our whole trust in Him, than to be thoroughly versed in the knowledge of His decrees" (Proverbs 16:33). By acknowledging God's sovereignty over all things, we can let go of our need to control and trust that He is working everything out for our good.

In times of uncertainty, it's essential to prioritize our faith by surrendering our will to Jesus and seeking His guidance. As Jesus said, "Come to Me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest" (Matthew 11:28). By coming to Jesus and surrendering our will to Him, we can find peace and rest in the midst of uncertainty. This requires a voluntary act of surrender, but it's the only way to truly prioritize our values and trust in God's goodness, even when we don't understand what's happening. By prioritizing our faith in Jesus, we can live a life of peace, hope, and confidence, even in the midst of uncertainty.
