Can I Even Keep My Job?

In today's fast-paced and ever-changing work environment, it's natural to feel anxious about job security. The question "Can I even keep my job?" is a common concern many people face. As Christians, we must remember that our identity and worth are not defined by our job or career. Our value comes from being a child of God and being loved by Him (John 3:16). While it's essential to be responsible and diligent in our work, we must not tie our self-worth to our employment status.

The Bible teaches us that our work is to be done as unto the Lord (Colossians 3:23). As the Bible says, "Whatever you do, do your work heartily, as for the Lord rather than for men" (Colossians 3:23). As the Bible says, "For we are God's handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do" (Ephesians 2:10). Ultimately, our job is not the most important thing in life, and we must not tie our self-worth to it. Our worth and identity come from being a beloved child of God, and that should give us the confidence and peace we need to navigate any career challenges that come our way.
