The Point of It All

The Bible teaches that the universe was made for Christ, and that everything is to be gathered together in Him (Ephesians 1:10). This suggests that there is a purpose and destiny for the universe, and that it is not ultimately pointless. The universe is not just a vast, meaningless expanse of space and time, but rather it is a creation of God that is intended to be redeemed and restored through Christ.

The Bible also teaches that God is sovereign over all creation, and that He works in ways that transcend our understanding (Romans 11:33-36). This means that even if we do not fully comprehend the purpose of the universe, we can trust that God is working out His plan and purpose in all things. Furthermore, the Bible teaches that God is committed to the created order, and that He will ultimately judge those who destroy the earth (2 Peter 3:10-13).

Ultimately, the point of it all is to know and experience a personal relationship with God through faith in Jesus Christ. This is the ultimate purpose of human existence, and it is the key to finding meaning and purpose in life. When we come to know God through faith in Christ, we are given a new identity and a new purpose in life. We are no longer defined by our sin and our self-centeredness, but rather we are defined by our relationship with God and our desire to serve and glorify Him. This is the great self-discovery of who we are in Christ, and it frees us to hate and exterminate the evil in ourselves and to sacrifice our own rights and welfare for others (Galatians 2:20). In the end, the point of it all is not just to survive or to succeed, but to know and experience God in all His fullness.
