Understanding Chaos and Building Courage

Chaos in our lives can be a sign that we lack mental composure, which comes from establishing ourselves on the eternal truth that God is holy love. When we lack this understanding, we may feel overwhelmed and anxious, and our faith may be shaken. However, faith is the supreme effort of our lives, and it's the key to responding to chaos with courage. Faith is about throwing ourselves recklessly on God, trusting in His sovereignty and goodness, even when we don't understand what's happening.

Embracing God's Sovereignty

When we face chaos, we need to remember that God is sovereign over all creation. He is holy love, and He is working everything out for our good, even when it doesn't feel like it. We can derive comfort from the scripturally grounded truth that God is in control, and that He will make our paths straight (Proverbs 3:5-6). By trusting in God's sovereignty, we can respond to chaos with courage and faith, knowing that He is working everything out for our good. This doesn't mean that we won't face challenges and difficulties, but it means that we can face them with confidence and trust in God's goodness.

Practicing Faith in the Face of Chaos

To build our faith and respond to chaos with courage, we need to practice faith in our daily lives. This means being proactive about our spiritual growth, seeking God's guidance and wisdom, and trusting in His promises. We need to reflect on the brevity and fragility of life, and recognize that our time on this earth is short. By doing so, we can develop a sense of urgency and purpose, and live our lives with intention and faith. We can also anticipate God's future fulfillment and live in the mode of expectation, leaning into the future and trusting in God's goodness. By doing so, we can build our faith and respond to chaos with courage, knowing that God is always with us and working everything out for our good.
