The Tension between Duty and Personal Values

Balancing our duty to serve with our personal values can be a challenging task. On one hand, our duty to serve others is rooted in our commitment to our faith and our desire to follow the teachings of Jesus. On the other hand, our personal values and preferences can sometimes conflict with our duty to serve. For example, we may feel that serving in a particular way would be a sacrifice, or that it would compromise our own needs and desires.

Understanding the Nature of Moral Values

However, as Christians, we believe that our values and duties are rooted in our relationship with God and our understanding of His will.
