The Underlying Struggle

This is not just about you; it's about the deeper struggle that's happening within you. Your heart is under assault, and it could be that you're losing. Primarily through neglect. Nobody ever told us to keep a close check on our hearts. It's easy to get distracted, to get busy, and to let feelings erode. This can happen to anyone, regardless of their intentions or desires.

The Enemy's Role

The Enemy, as described in the Bible, is always looking for opportunities to whisper temptation and lies into our ears. When we feel down or unfulfilled, he seizes the moment to tell us that we can find happiness and fulfillment through sinful or selfish means. This is a classic tactic of the Enemy, and it's something that we must be aware of and resist.

A Call to Reflection and Renewal

So, what can you do? First, acknowledge that you're struggling and that it's not just about you. It's about the deeper spiritual battle that's raging within you. Second, take time to reflect on your motivations and desires. Are you seeking to love others and serve Christ, or are you trying to change others or make life easier for yourself? And finally, be willing to confront the root issues and seek renewal and restoration through a deeper relationship with God. As the Bible says, "Draw near to God and he will draw near to you" (James 4:8). By doing so, you can find the strength and courage to overcome the struggles and challenges that are facing you.
