Why do I feel so alone in this?
The Lonely Heart
Why do I feel so alone in this? It's a question that echoes through the depths of our being, a cry for connection, for love, for acceptance. The Enemy seeks to whisper lies, to tell us that we are alone, that we are unworthy of love. But we are not alone. We are created beings, designed for relationship, for community, for love.
The Source of Loneliness
The source of loneliness is not just a lack of relationships, but a deeper struggle. Our hearts are under assault, and it could be that we're losing. Primarily through neglect. Nobody ever told us to keep a close check on our hearts. We are prone to prioritize choice over commitment, to fear missing out, and in doing so, we miss out on the things that matter most. We are tempted to give up, to retreat into isolation, but this is a path that leads to darkness.
The Solution
But there is a solution to loneliness. Jesus is the answer. He is the one who will never leave us or forsake us. He is the one who will strengthen us and change us. When we look to Him, we will no longer be alone. We will be part of a community that loves and accepts us, not despite our flaws, but because of our need for love. We will be part of a community that says, "You are not alone. You are loved." And in that love, we will find our rest, our peace, our purpose. We will be free from the bondage of self, free to love and be loved, free to be who we were created to be.
