Teaching Children to Live Out Their Faith

As parents, it is our responsibility to teach and train our children in the ways of the Lord. We want our kids to possess a real faith, not just profess one, and to become passionate about following Jesus. This means teaching them to respect others, handing down the truths of the faith, and modelling the service of God. We want to see our children develop a godly character, one that fears the Lord and sticks to their convictions. This requires us to be intentional in our parenting, teaching them the Word of God and praying that their faith will grow.

Helping Children Develop Courage in Their Faith

One of the key characteristics of children with faith is their ability to be courageous in the face of societal pressure. This means not being fearful of the dark, bugs, or bullies, but rather being bold in their faith. We can teach our children to exercise their willful determination to stick with what they believe, even when others disagree. By acknowledging that they will face challenges and teaching them how to respond, we can help them develop the courage they need to live out their faith. This means being honest with them about the reality of the world and teaching them how to navigate it in a way that honors God.

As the Bible says, "Train up a child in the way he should go, even when he is old he will not depart from it" (Proverbs 22:6). By being intentional in our parenting and teaching our children the ways of the Lord, we can give them the tools they need to live out their faith and make a positive impact on the world.
