Your Question:
Can God really heal me now?
Answer:
My friend, I can see that you're struggling with a faulty theology of suffering. You've been taught that God wants to heal you because He loves you and has a wonderful plan for your life. While this sounds good in theory, it's not always the case. As a pastor, I've seen many people fall into a tailspin of self-pity and despair when God doesn't heal them immediately. The truth is, God's ways are not our ways, and His timing is not our timing. Sometimes, God chooses not to heal us because of His own sovereign purposes. This doesn't mean that He's not a loving God or that He doesn't care about our well-being. It simply means that He's working in ways that we can't always understand. As 2 Corinthians 12:7 says, "I was given a thorn in my flesh, a messenger from Satan to torment me, so that I would not become conceited." Even the apostle Paul, who wrote most of the New Testament, struggled with physical affliction. So, can God really heal you now? The answer is yes, but it's not always as simple as just asking Him. We must remember that God's will is not always to heal everyone, and sometimes He chooses not to heal us. However, if it is His will to heal you, He is a loving and merciful God who desires to restore health to you and heal you of your wounds (Jeremiah 30:17). When we pray for healing, we should pray out of compassion and ask that God be glorified in the situation, whether He chooses to heal or not.
