Understanding Spiritual Warfare

In times of war, spiritual warfare becomes a pressing concern. The Bible reminds us that we are not carrying on a worldly war, but a spiritual one (2 Corinthians 10:3-4). Our weapons are not of this world, but have divine power to demolish strongholds (2 Corinthians 10:4). Spiritual warfare is a reality that we must acknowledge and confront head-on. It is a battle that requires spiritual resources, such as truth, faith, and relating to God (Ephesians 6:10-18).

Prioritizing Spiritual Life During War

To prioritize our spiritual lives during times of war, we must first acknowledge the reality of spiritual warfare. We must be aware of the enemy's tactics and strategies, and be prepared to resist them. This involves getting dressed for combat, as James 4:7 says, "Resist the devil, and he will flee from you." We must also avoid distractions and entanglements, as 1 Timothy 2:8 says, "I desire therefore that the men in every place pray, lifting up holy hands without wrath and doubting." We must be vigilant and stay focused on the battle at hand, using the spiritual provisions God has given us to overcome the enemy's attacks.

Facing Spiritual Warfare Head-On

During times of war, spiritual warfare can be covert and subtle. We may feel like everything is business as usual, but the enemy is still at work. We must face facts and acknowledge the reality of spiritual warfare. We must not be deceived by the enemy's tactics, but instead, be empowered by the truth and the resources God has given us. We must be committed to discipleship and adhering to the truth, as 1 Timothy 2:8 says, "I desire therefore that the men in every place pray, lifting up holy hands without wrath and doubting." By doing so, we can overcome the enemy's attacks and stay vigilant in the spiritual battle. Ultimately, our goal is to glorify God and advance His kingdom, even in the midst of war.
