Can Christians Be Deceived?

Christians can indeed be deceived. The Bible warns against this possibility in several passages. For instance, James 1:22 says, "Be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves." This verse indicates that Christians can be deceived by their own actions, or lack thereof, and that this deception can lead to a false sense of security. Similarly, 2 Timothy 3:13 warns that "evil men and impostors will proceed from bad to worse, deceiving and being deceived."

The Bible also warns that Christians can be deceived by false teachers. 2 Peter 2:1-3 describes false prophets who will arise and lead people astray, even among the elect.
