The Value of a Human Life

As a Christian, I want to assure you that you are still a person with worth, no matter what you may be going through. Your value and worth are not determined by your productivity, wealth, or accomplishments. In fact, the Bible teaches that true worth and value come from our relationship with God. As the Apostle Paul wrote, "You are not your own; you were bought at a price" (1 Corinthians 6:20). This means that our lives are not our own; we belong to God, and He values us so much that He gave His Son, Jesus, to die for us.

The Intrinsic Value of Humanity

The Bible teaches that all human beings are created in the image of God (Genesis 1:26-27). This means that we have inherent worth and value, simply because we are human beings. Our worth is not based on our performance or achievements, but on our existence as children of God. This is why Jesus came to earth - to give us a new perspective on our worth and value. He said, "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life" (John 3:16). This means that our worth and value are not determined by our accomplishments or possessions, but by our relationship with God through faith in Jesus Christ.

A Life of Purpose and Meaning

While our worth and value are not determined by external factors, we can find purpose and meaning in life by living for God and serving others. The Bible teaches that we are to use our gifts and talents to serve others and to bring glory to God (1 Corinthians 12:4-7). When we live a life of service and obedience to God, we find true purpose and meaning. This is not just about what we do, but about who we are in Christ. As the Bible says, "We are God's handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do" (Ephesians 2:10). So, I want to encourage you to remember that you are a person of worth and value, created in the image of God and loved by Him. Your worth and value are not determined by external factors, but by your relationship with God through faith in Jesus Christ.
