Biblical Answer

The Bible teaches that God is a loving Father who desires to be in a close, personal relationship with His children. In fact, He calls us His "children" (John 1:12). This relationship is not based on our performance or behavior, but rather on His sovereign choice to adopt us as His own (Ephesians 1:5). As His children, we are heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ (Romans 8:17). This means that we have a permanent relationship with Him, and we cannot be "born into" or "kicked out" of it.

In the context of human families, the Bible also teaches that marriage is a permanent and lifelong commitment between a man and a woman (Matthew 19:4-6, Ephesians 5:31). This means that couples must work together to make decisions and establish a constitution for their family, as one partner cannot have a "casting vote" in family policy. However, this does not mean that families are perfect or that they will never struggle. In fact, the Bible teaches that families can be a source of blessing and a place where we learn to love and serve one another (1 Timothy 5:8).

In light of these biblical teachings, it is possible to have a family and still be secure in our relationship with God. In fact, God's love and presence can be a source of strength and guidance for families as they navigate the challenges of life together. By seeking to live out the values and teachings of the Bible in our families, we can build strong, loving relationships that reflect God's character and bring glory to Him. This requires commitment, hard work, and a willingness to seek God's guidance and wisdom in our family relationships. But it is a worthwhile pursuit, as it allows us to experience the joy and blessing of being part of a family that reflects God's love and character.
