The Paradox of Safety and Risk

In seeking to reconcile our desire for safety with the call to take risks for God, we must first acknowledge that true safety lies not in the absence of risk, but in the presence of God. As the psalmist writes, "The Lord will keep you from all harm—he will watch over your life; the Lord will watch over your coming and going both now and forevermore" (Psalm 121:7-8). This sense of safety is not a guarantee of physical protection from harm, but rather a deep inner peace that comes from trusting in God's sovereignty and providence.

The Call to Risk
