Understanding the Sovereignty of God

When it comes to the question of why God took our child away, we must acknowledge the sovereignty of God over all creation. This means that God is the all-powerful, all-knowing, and all-good Creator who governs everything that happens in the world, including the lives of our children. As the Bible says, "He does as He pleases with the powers of heaven and the peoples of the earth" (Psalm 115:3). This truth can be both comforting and challenging, as it reminds us that God is in control, even when we don't understand what He is doing.

The Parent's Role and Responsibility

As parents, we have a responsibility to trust God and to seek His guidance in raising our children. This means that we are not entitled to control or manipulate our children, but rather to guide them and teach them to follow God's ways. As the Bible says, "Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it" (Proverbs 22:6). We are to depend on God to enable us to raise our children properly, and He will see to it that their lives are blessed. This means that we must pray for wisdom and guidance, and seek to understand God's will for our children's lives.

The Importance of Trust and Faith

When we face the loss of a child, it can be hard to understand why God took them away. But as we seek to understand God's sovereignty and our role as parents, we must also trust and have faith in God's goodness and love. We can pray for God to give us insight into the hearts of our children, and to guide us in our parenting. We can also pray for our children to be blessed and to follow God's ways, even if they are not with us physically. As the Bible says, "I will go to him, but he will not return to me" (Job 1:21). This verse reminds us that our children are in God's care, and that He will see them through to eternity.
