Can a person still be a good Christian if they struggle with doubt?

A person can still be a good Christian if they struggle with doubt. Doubt is not the same as a lack of faith. In fact, the Bible says, "O you of little faith, why did you doubt?" (Matthew 14:31). This verse suggests that even Jesus' disciples struggled with doubt, and yet they were still followers of Jesus. The key is to maintain complete reliance on Jesus, even in the midst of doubt. If a person's doubts are causing them to question the authority of Jesus or the truth of the Bible, then it may indicate a deeper issue with their faith. However, if a person is struggling with doubts but still trusting in Jesus, then they can still be considered a good Christian.

It's also worth noting that Christians can and do struggle with doubts, and it's not necessarily a sign of a lack of faith. In fact, the Bible says, "We walk by faith, not by sight" (2 Corinthians 5:7). This means that our faith is not based on our feelings or our understanding, but on the promises of God. Even when we struggle with doubts, we can still choose to trust in Jesus and His promises. As the Bible says, "Let your actual circumstances be what they may, but keep recognizing Jesus, maintaining complete reliance upon Him" (John 14:31).

Ultimately, a person's doubts do not define their relationship with Jesus. What matters is their commitment to following Jesus, even in the midst of doubt. As the Bible says, "If you abide in my word, you are truly my disciples, and you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free" (John 8:31-32).
