When love turns to dust in our daily lives when we're feeling overwhelmed, it's essential to understand that love is not just a feeling, but an action. The Scriptures speak of Christ's love, and each new thing we learn about Him becomes a fresh reason for loving Him. When feelings of love seem to dry up, we must remember that the essence of a marriage is that it is a choice, not a feeling. We need to make a conscious decision to love, even when we don't feel like it.

The problem arises when we seek to find our fulfillment in our spouse, rather than in God. We try to find our happiness and completeness in another human being, which is misguided.
