Understanding the Concept of God Taking Away

When we ask why God has to take everything away from us, we must first understand the concept of God's sovereignty and ownership over creation. As the Bible teaches, God created the universe and everything in it, including our lives, careers, and possessions. This means that He has the right to take them away or give them to us as He sees fit. However, this taking away is not necessarily a punishment, but rather a removal of obstacles that prevent us from drawing closer to Him.

The Purpose of God's Removal

The removal of things that hinder our relationship with God is not a punishment, but rather a demonstration of His love and desire for us to be with Him. Just as a loving father might take away a toy from a child to prevent harm or distraction, God takes away things that distract us from Him. This removal allows us to focus on our relationship with God and to experience the joy and fulfillment that comes from being in His presence. By taking away the things that prevent us from drawing closer to Him, God is actually giving us something more valuable – Himself.

The Invitation to Receive

God's invitation to us is not just to take away the things that hinder our relationship with Him, but also to receive Him as our Savior and Lord. When we receive Jesus as our Savior, we are given access to God's presence and are able to experience the forgiveness and cleansing that comes from justification. This is not just a one-time event, but a continuous process of surrendering our lives to God and allowing Him to mold and shape us into the image of Christ. By surrendering to God and receiving Him as our Savior, we are able to experience the fullness of life and the joy that comes from being in His presence.
