Why Does God Allow Us to Go Through Difficult Times?

God's Sovereignty and Our Weakness

God allows us to go through difficult times because He wants to bring us into oneness with Him. He desires us to hold fast to Him, to trust in Him, and to follow His commands. However, our weakness and human inability often hinder us from doing so. We may struggle with habits, unconcern, or a lack of faith, which prevents us from accessing God's power and guidance. God's intention is to reveal our weaknesses and bring them into submission to His will, so we can experience redemption and a deeper relationship with Him.

The Purpose of Suffering

Suffering and hardship are not a result of God's lack of love or care for us. Rather, they are a means to an end, a way for God to shape us into the image of Christ.
