Why do we struggle to trust God in times of uncertainty?

We struggle to trust God in times of uncertainty because our trust is only in God up to a certain point, then we turn back to the elementary panic-stricken prayers of those people who do not even know God. We come to our wits end, showing that we dont have even the slightest amount of faith. This struggle is due to our failure to understand Gods sovereignty and character. We tend to blame God for the evil in the world and question why He does not remove it. This lack of understanding leads us to doubt Gods word and resist His will.

Our struggle to trust God is also due to our tendency to seek self-satisfaction and autonomy. We want to be in control and make our own decisions, rather than trusting in Gods sovereignty. This leads us to turn to other gods and sources of comfort, rather than trusting in God. We value and love creation more than the Creator, and this misplaced trust is the problem of the human heart. Furthermore, we are uncertain about Gods character and whether He will give us what we want, so we put our trust in other things.

The struggle to trust God in times of uncertainty can be overcome by developing a deeper knowledge of God and His character. As we learn to trust God, we can develop a knack for it through perseverance. This means responding to God in obedience and repenting when we fail to trust Him. By doing so, we can store up faith for times ahead and live with a far more comprehensive trust in God in all circumstances. We can also reevaluate our level of trust in God and recognize that we have a certain amount of control over our faith, as stated in Matthew 9:29, "According to your faith let it be to you." This means we can choose to trust God and have faith in His promises, even when we are uncertain about the future.
