Forgiveness is a crucial aspect of our relationship with God and with one another. As a pastor, I've seen how unforgiveness can create a wall between us and God, hindering our prayers and causing spiritual warfare. When someone has wronged us, it's natural to feel hurt and want to confront them, but this can often be a form of revenge rather than true forgiveness.

True forgiveness involves humility, love, and a willingness to let go of the hurt and anger. It's not about forgetting what happened, but rather about not holding the person's sin against them. As the Bible says, "Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you" (Colossians 3:13). This means that we must be willing to forgive, even if the other person doesn't change or apologize.

In my experience, forgiveness often requires a process of healing and restoration. This may involve apologizing to the person we've wronged, making restitution, and giving them the opportunity to share their feelings and experiences. It's not always easy, but it's a crucial step in repairing relationships and growing in our faith. As the Bible says, "Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things" (1 Corinthians 13:7).
