Biblical Answer

If your retirement is gone, you may still have a purpose in life. The Bible teaches that our purpose is to know and enjoy God and to make Him known to others (Psalm 16:11, 1 Corinthians 10:31). This purpose is not dependent on external circumstances, such as a comfortable retirement. In fact, the Bible warns against allowing material security to become our ultimate goal in life (Matthew 6:19-21). Our purpose is to glorify God and enjoy Him forever, regardless of our circumstances.

This purpose can be lived out in various ways, even in the midst of financial uncertainty. For example, we can continue to serve others, share the Gospel, and use our talents and skills to make a positive impact in the world. We can also cultivate a deeper relationship with God through prayer, Bible study, and worship. Our purpose is not defined by our external circumstances, but by our relationship with God. As the psalmist writes, "You make known to me the path of life; in your presence there is fullness of joy; at your right hand are pleasures forevermore" (Psalm 16:11).

Ultimately, our purpose in life is not about achieving a certain status or accumulating wealth, but about knowing and enjoying God. As the Bible says, "Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you" (Hebrews 13:5). Even in the midst of financial uncertainty, we can find purpose and meaning in our relationship with God. We can trust in His sovereignty and provision, and live out our purpose in obedience to Him. By doing so, we can experience the fullness of joy and pleasures that come from knowing and enjoying God.
