Trust in God is not something that comes easily, especially when everything falls apart. In fact, trusting God can be a paradox, as we come to realize that when all goes wrong, God's way is right. He is still moving on our behalf, wanting our greatest good to come together for His glory. We must trust God in the darkness, even when we don't understand what He is doing. This is because faith is the supreme effort of our life, throwing ourselves on the reliability of God, rather than our own abilities or other sources of comfort. However, our trust is often only up to a certain point, and then we turn back to our own panic-stricken prayers, showing that we don't have even the slightest amount of trust in God.
The problem is that we often try to trust God through our own good works, rather than through faith in what He has done through Jesus. We think that if we can just do enough or be good enough, God will take care of us. But this is a misunderstanding of God's character. He is not a God who is moved by our good works, but rather by His own holiness and love. When we trust in God, we are not trusting in our own abilities or strengths, but rather in His power and sovereignty. This means that we must learn to go beyond all confidence in ourselves and other people, and to place our trust in God alone. We must also learn to deal with God about everything, and to get into the habit of seeking His guidance and provision in all areas of our lives.
Ultimately, trusting God means that we must become more sure of Him than of anyone or anything else. This means that we must learn to believe steadfastly in Him, even when everything falls apart. We must become like the Psalmist, who says "I will trust in you and not be afraid. What can mere mortals do to me?" (Psalm 56:3). We must also become like the apostle Paul, who says "I can do all this through him who gives me strength" (Philippians 4:13). When we trust God, we are not just trusting in a concept or an idea, but in a living, personal God who is with us and for us. And when we trust Him, we can be sure that He will guide us, provide for us, and sustain us, even in the midst of chaos and uncertainty.
