Your Question:

How do I find peace in the midst of chaos?

Answer:

Finding peace in the midst of chaos is a universal desire, and I've come to understand it through my own experiences as a pastor and a husband and father. As Stephen Covey said, we achieve inner peace when our schedule aligns with our values. But for many of us, our schedules are not aligned with our values, leading to anxiety and draining our energy reserves. This is where I believe the gospel of peace comes in - it's not just about finding peace in our relationships or in our own hearts, but about having peace with God.

As a Christian, I've come to understand that true inner peace is impossible unless it is received from Jesus. When our Lord speaks peace, He creates peace, because His words are spirit and life. I've experienced this peace myself, and it's a peace that comes from looking into His face and fully understanding and receiving His quiet contentment. This peace is not a natural peace, but the peace of Jesus, which is an immeasurable, deep peace that He sends to us in times of turmoil.

For me, this peace is something that I seek to cultivate in my own life, and I try to pass it on to my family, particularly my children. As a parent, I want to teach them to seek peace with others and within themselves, and to be peacemakers, not just peacekeepers. I pray for them to have the Spirit of love, and to demonstrate love in their relationships. I believe that this is a key part of our Christian walk, and it's something that can bring unity and solidarity to our families and communities for generations to come.
