What will we do in heaven?

The Bible provides us with some glimpses of what our life in heaven will be like. One quality of our life in heaven will be rest. The writer of the letter to the Hebrews makes much of the rest that believers will enjoy in heaven, saying, "Therefore, since we have been sanctified through the sacrifice of the body of Jesus Christ once for all, we must hold on to our confession, for the one who has promised is faithful. And we have something even more than this as our confident expectation. We hope that the God of all grace, who called you to his eternal glory by means of Christ, will himself complete this work in you after you have suffered a little while. And to him be the glory and the power for all the ages of eternity. Amen." (Hebrews 13:20-21). This rest is not just a physical rest, but a spiritual rest that will be enjoyed by believers in heaven.

In heaven, we will also be engaged in worship and service. The Bible tells us that we will be serving God in heaven, and that we will be doing so with joy and gladness. We will be singing and praising God, and we will be doing so with a sense of awe and wonder at His greatness and majesty. We will also be serving one another in heaven, and we will be doing so with love and kindness. The Bible tells us that we will be "princes and princesses who will reign with Christ over the new creation" (Revelation 5:10). This means that we will be serving God and one another in heaven, and that we will be doing so with a sense of joy and gladness.

The Bible also tells us that in heaven, we will be free from sin and its effects. We will no longer be tempted by sin, and we will no longer experience the pain and suffering that sin brings. We will be in a state of perfect holiness and righteousness, and we will be enjoying a deep and intimate relationship with God. We will be seeing God face to face, and we will be experiencing His love and presence in a way that we cannot experience now. We will be in a state of perfect joy and happiness, and we will be experiencing a sense of peace and contentment that we cannot experience now. This is what our life in heaven will be like, and it is a glorious and wonderful prospect.
