Can we truly trust others?

The question of whether we can truly trust others is a complex one. In the Bible, we see that trust is not necessarily about trusting people, but rather about trusting God. When we trust God, we are acknowledging that He is our true source of satisfaction and salvation. This means that we are not placing our trust in people, but rather in the One who is trustworthy. As Brother Lawrence said, we build our faith by "the practice of the presence of God" (1 Cor 2:11-14). When we are constantly talking to Christ and abiding in Him, it becomes easier to trust Him.

However, the Bible also shows that trust is not always easy. In fact, it is often difficult to trust others because of the universal sin that exists in humanity. This means that we need protection against one another, and we cannot always trust that others will do what is right. But despite this, the Bible encourages us to trust in Jesus Christ, who is the only one who will never betray us or let us down. As the book of Proverbs says, "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding" (Proverbs 3:5). This means that we should trust in God, even when our common sense tells us not to.

In the end, trust is not about trusting people, but about trusting God. When we trust God, we are acknowledging that He is our true source of salvation and satisfaction.
