When Everything Feels Like It's Falling Apart: Finding Trust in God

When everything feels like it's falling apart, trusting God can be a daunting task. It's natural to wonder why God allows suffering and hardship in our lives. However, the Bible teaches us that God is holy love and is working everything out for our good (Romans 8:28). Trusting God in the darkness requires a daily personal time with Him, where we talk to Him and He talks to us, friend to friend (Proverbs 3:5-6). This relationship with God is the foundation of dynamic faith, which enables us to trust Him even when everything seems to be falling apart.

The Paradox of Trusting God

Trusting God is a paradox because it requires us to surrender our own strength and understanding to His sovereignty. When we trust God, we acknowledge that He is all-sufficient and great, and that His way is right even when all else seems wrong (Job 13:15). Trusting God doesn't mean we won't experience struggles or setbacks, but it means we'll learn to lean on Him in the midst of them. As we trust God, we'll become more sure of Him than of anything else, and our faith will become the bedrock of our lives (Hebrews 3:14). We'll learn to say, "Though He slay me, yet will I trust Him" (Job 13:15).

Finding Trust in the Midst of Suffering

When suffering and hardship come, it's natural to wonder if God is present or if He's abandoned us. However, the Bible teaches us that God is always working, even in the midst of our struggles (Isaiah 50:10-11). He's not distant or unresponsive; He's actively working to bring us to Himself. As we trust God in the midst of suffering, we'll learn to see Him as holy love, who is working everything out for our good. We'll become more confident in Him and less reliant on our own strength or understanding. We'll learn to trust Him even when everything feels like it's falling apart, and our faith will become the foundation of our lives. In the words of the Bible, "We can trust God. He will not let you be tested more than you can stand. But when you are tested, He will also make a way out so that you can bear it" (1 Corinthians 10:13).
