Will i ever feel normal again?
Feeling Normal Again: A Biblical Perspective
As a Christian, it's natural to wonder if we'll ever feel "normal" again, especially when facing struggles like depression or anxiety. The Bible acknowledges that life can be difficult and that we'll experience pain, but it also offers a message of hope and redemption. When we look to Jesus, we're no longer alone; we're strengthened and changed. The Bible teaches us to "cast all our anxiety on him because he cares for us" (1 Peter 5:7). By trusting in Jesus and His power, we can find peace and comfort in the midst of struggles.
The Bible also teaches that our struggles, including depression and anxiety, can be opportunities for growth and spiritual maturity. When we're faced with challenges, we have a choice: we can give up or we can press on, trusting in God's sovereignty and goodness. As the apostle Paul wrote, "For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all" (2 Corinthians 4:17). While it's natural to feel overwhelmed and unsure, we can trust that God is working all things together for our good (Romans 8:28).
Ultimately, feeling "normal" again may not be the goal; instead, it's about growing in our faith and trusting in God's goodness, even when we don't feel like it. The Bible teaches us to "rejoice in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope" (Romans 5:3-4). By choosing to trust in God and His power, we can find peace, comfort, and hope, even in the midst of struggles. As the psalmist wrote, "I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world" (John 16:33).
