Can I Still Have a Sense of Freedom If I'm Not in a Good Place?
The concept of freedom is often misunderstood as an abstract, general, and absolute idea. However, from a biblical perspective, freedom is specifically spiritual and moral: freedom from sin and freedom to live as God intended human beings to live. This means that freedom is not about external circumstances or the ability to do whatever we want, but rather about being free to do right and to do what is pleasing to God.
In the midst of difficult situations, it can be tempting to feel trapped or limited in our choices. However, the Bible teaches that true freedom comes from a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. When we focus on Him and commit ourselves to loving Him in action, day in and day out, we can experience freedom even in the midst of challenges. This freedom is not about feeling free to do whatever we want, but rather about being free to live as God intended us to live. As the Bible says, "For it is God who works in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure" (Philippians 2:13).
So, can you still have a sense of freedom if you're not in a good place? The answer is yes. True freedom is not about external circumstances, but about being free to live as God intended us to live. Even when things seem difficult or impossible, we can still know that freedom and release will be given because of our continued concentration on Jesus Christ. Our duty in service and ministry is to see that freedom is given to others, and to trust that God will work in us to will and to do of His good pleasure, even in the midst of challenges. As the Bible says, "And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose" (Romans 8:28).
